Sposi Novelli in the Vatican

Attending the Wednesday Papal Audience as Sposi Novelli (newlyweds) is an unforgettable experience for many couples who have recently celebrated their Church wedding. During this audience, couples married within the past two months (or, in some cases, up to a year) can sit in a reserved area close to the Holy Father, wearing their wedding attire or similar formal clothing. At the end of the audience, the Pope gives a special blessing to the newlyweds, and occasionally, some couples have the opportunity to greet him personally.​

The photoshoot after the blessing

Many couples contact me to arrange a photoshoot in Rome after receiving the papal blessing.
It's important to note that, as a photographer, I cannot conduct the photoshoot during the Papal Audience. The presence of numerous personal photographers could disrupt the ceremony. Therefore, I always recommend planning the photoshoot after the ceremony, preferably shortly before sunset, in order to capture these special moments calmly and professionally.

Iconic locations for the photoshoot

Typically, couples choose symbolic locations such as St. Peter's Square, Bernini's colonnade, Via della Conciliazione, and Castel Sant'Angelo. These settings offer spectacular backdrops that celebrate love and faith.
