Persian wedding ceremony
English and Iranian marriage in Rome
Nima and Natasha's love story is one of those that goes beyond all kinds of cultural and linguistic barriers. Nima has Persian origins, while Natasha is English; and it is precisely in the UK that their lives became intertwined so as not to separate anymore.
Nima used to go to the bar where Natasha worked when she was a student. There were countless moments and secret chats before Nima invited Natasha on their first date. They stayed up the whole night talking and immediately became inseparable.
They made their dream of getting married in Italy come true with a wedding at Albano Lake, in particular at the Hotel Castel Vecchio for Nima getting ready and at Villa Pocci for Natasha getting ready, the ceremony and the party.
A very special ceremony was celebrated in this beautiful setting because of Nima’s origins: it was a real Persian ceremony.
In particular, the wedding altar was set up with a banquet, the Sofreh-ye Aghd as a good wish for the couple.
On the altar were present: a mirror to enlighten their future, candles to give energy, food as a symbol of abundance and a sugar cone that was crumbled during the ceremony by relatives of female gender on a cloth covering the head of the couple, as a wish for a life full of sweetness.
Imagine how all of this, typical of an Iranian marriage, struck us and fascinated us. Thanks to this wonderful couple for making us part of their special day!
I’d recommend again and again and again!
Wow, really can’t believe how beautiful our wedding photos have turned out. They really captured the most special moments and have given us memories to last forever.
The guys are lovely and kind, you couldn’t wish for nicer people to be around whilst going through the craziness of your wedding day. I’d recommend again and again and again!
